Ride up Langjokull Glacier, the second-largest glacier in Iceland, in a modified glacier vehicle and walk through the ice tunnels inside it on this family-friendly tour from Klaki Base Camp.
You drive yourself to Klaki Base Camp in West Iceland.
At the base camp, you board a specially modified glacier vehicle and drive up the white slopes onto the ice cap, with views across the glacier on the way.
Your English-speaking guide leads you through the tunnels for about an hour, explaining the basics of how glaciers form and change. Inside, you can see ice that is more than 1,000 years old.
The tunnels in Langjokull are the only ice tunnels in the world that you can visit all year. Their appearance can vary as work on the tunnels continues.
After the tunnel tour, the glacier vehicle takes you back down to the base camp.
