Description
The Seljalandsfoss Horizons Lodges are a set of eight luxury lodges located right by Seljalandsfoss waterfall on Iceland’s South Coast. Guests seeking a natural immersion on one of the country’s most popular sightseeing routes without losing out on modern amenities should book one of these lovely log cabins now.
Location & Nearby
It takes just 40 minutes of walking to get from the door of your Seljalandsfoss Horizons Lodge to feeling the spray of Seljalandsfoss waterfall on your face; if you don’t fancy the hike, it’s only a four-minute drive. By this feature is a lesser-known but similarly beautiful falls, Gljufrabui.
There are few better places to start a South Coast sightseeing adventure than at these gorgeous log cabins. The next major feature of the region is another waterfall, Skogafoss, which can be reached in less than a half-hour on the road; the stunning rock arch of Dyrholaey and Reynisfjara black sand beach are a further 20 minutes from there.
Even the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, ‘the Crown Jewel of Iceland’s Nature’, is within reach; in spite of being in the far southeast, it is just around three hours’ drive away. The Westman Islands ferry leaves from Landeyjahöfn, a 15-minute drive from the lodge, while Þórsmörk is about an hour away, Reykjavík under two hours and Keflavík Airport two hours.
Facilities & Amenities
The eight lodges that comprise Seljalandsfoss Horizons are all absolutely beautiful and feature the same design. They are spread over 43sqm and two stories, and each has two bedrooms with space for a couple. They also have a kitchen (with food in the fridge) so that guests do not need to spend extortionately on restaurants; a private bathroom with a shower; and a dining area and living room with giant windows that allow you to marvel over the views outside.
The style of the lodges is a beautiful blend of the modern and rustic. They are surrounded by rural beauty, with few other signs of civilisation in sight, but still, all boast free Wifi. Free parking is available on site. From late 2026 the property adds 11 deluxe suites, a restaurant, sauna & spa, a lobby with gift shop, cocktail bar and a playroom lounge. Family-run by a local Icelandic family (Kristina & Atli), Nordic design with panorama windows.
